General Information

Date: 1-5 June, 2008
Location: The conference will take place at the NH Leeuwenhorst Conference Hotel, Noordwijkerhout, The Netherlands.
Scientific Program:

The conference will open with a keynote address from the 2008 CSA Trust Mike Lynch Award winner on Sunday afternoon at 18:00, 1 June, and will continue until lunchtime on Thursday, 5 June. The main scientific program will be divided into five plenary sessions:

  • Cheminformatics
  • Structure-Activity and Structure-Property Prediction
  • Structure-Based Drug Design and Virtual Screening
  • Analysis of Large Data Sets
  • Informatics for Bridging Between Chemistry and Biology
  • Virtual Chemistry

An extended poster session will be part of the scientific program. The maximum area for mounting your poster is 1.25 m x 1.50 m (50 inches x 60 inches). Typical posters occupy 84 cm x 118.8 cm (33 inches x 47 inches), although you may use as little or as much of the maximum allowed. Posters are in landscape mode (Height x Width).

Conference presentations will be published in a special issue of the peer-reviewed Journal of Chemical Information and Modeling (JCIM).

Awards:

The recipient of the CSA Trust Michael Lynch award will be deliver the keynote address (recipient and topic to be announced)

Abstract Submission:

Abstracts will be accepted until 15 February, 2008. At that time the Scientific Advisory Board will review all proposals and select those relevant for oral submission, with the remainder being presented as posters.

All presenters (oral and poster) will be notified by 15 March, 2008 regarding the status of their proposal.

Exhibition:

An exhibition featuring both commercially available software and also software from research projects and Special Interest Group (SIG) sessions will form an integral part of the conference.

Conference Fees:

Conference fees are:

  • single room is € 1,150
  • double room is € 975 (each)

This fee includes transportation to/from Schiphol airport, attendance during the 4-day conference, conference proceedings, full board and four nights lodging, all conference receptions, a group excursion and conference dinner.

JCIM Publications:

To all those authors who gave a paper or presented a poster at 8th ICCS in Noordwijkerhout this year.

You are encouraged to submit your work for publication in a special ICCS issue of the Journal of Chemical Information and Modeling (formerly the Journal of Chemical Information and Computer Sciences (JCICS)) in early 2009. You should submit your manuscript via the electronic system, Paragon, at http://pubs.acs.org/paragonplus/. It is very important that you mention the Noordwijkerhout issue in your cover letter and ask that Wendy Warr be the corresponding editor. Please submit your manuscript by September 1, 2008.

All manuscripts will be peer reviewed in the usual way. If you have already published your work elsewhere, alas, JCIM cannot accept your manuscript.

Please contact Wendy directly ([email protected]) if you have any queries.
